When national retailer Best Buy made the 2012 decision to extensively make over the computer and tablet department in more than 1,000 individual stores, H.J. Martin and Son was one of several companies tabbed to execute the fast-track project.
Our team completed work on 162 stores in the Midwest and West Coast over a 18-working-day period. H.J. Martin and Son built and relocated fixtures to facilitate and transform a new tablet department. Much of the work was done at night while the stores were closed. H.J. Martin and Son met quick timelines while remaining mindful of products and customers in an open-store environment.
53 crew-members were dedicated to the project that spanned 17 states, with each store being completed over a 1-2-night period. The project ended just before Thanksgiving and the Black Friday rush.
H.J. Martin and Son’s first work on behalf of Best Buy occurred in July 1988, when the company installed a new “Answer Center” in all 20 Best Buy locations at the time; from this project, the Fixtures Division of H.J. Martin and Son was born.
