October 1 event to benefit House of Hope and its programs that serve young mothers
H.J. Martin and Son will serve as the title sponsor of the 2015 ‘Touchdowns for Hope’ charity gala, Shannon Wienandt, director of House of Hope, the event’s beneficiary, announced today.
Serving as the primary fundraiser for House of Hope a sixth straight year, ‘Touchdowns for Hope’ is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, at Oneida Golf and Country Club, 207 Country Club Road in Green Bay. Green Bay Packers fullback John Kuhn, along with his wife, Lindsey, are serving as co-chairs of the event for a third consecutive year.
Tickets are priced at $100 for individual attendees, and are available at www.touchdownsforhope.org. The event includes gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a light buffet meal and desserts, along with one-of-a-kind silent and live auction items, plus dancing. Green Bay Packers alum William Henderson will be the night’s auctioneer, and he is expected to be joined at the event by a number of current Packers players.
“We can’t thank H.J. Martin and Son enough for stepping up as the title sponsor of ‘Touchdowns for Hope,’ “ says Wienandt. “The support of the local business community plays a major role in allowing us to reach our goal of serving the young mothers of Northeast Wisconsin who need our help.”
House of Hope is a Green Bay-based, non-profit organization that provides programming, services and shelter to homeless, pregnant or parenting women, ages 18-24, and their children. It offers a safe, supportive place where young mothers can become confident adults and independent parents.
H.J. Martin and Son has a long-time relationship with House of Hope, contributing labor and materials for building projects in 2010 and 2011. Earlier this year, the company participated in the ‘Designers for Hope’ event through the remodeling and showcasing of the home of David Martin, fourth generation at H.J. Martin and Son. In 2013, House of Hope presented the company with an award as an “Outstanding Community Partner.”
“House of Hope serves a genuine need within our community,” says H.J. Martin CEO Edward Martin. “We are pleased to play a small role in their efforts to help young mothers in distress. ‘Touchdowns for Hope’ has become one of the signature events in Green Bay, both for its program and for the impact it has on House of Hope throughout the year.”
