High-quality products and service have been the hallmarks of H.J. Martin and Son since its 1931 start in the garage of Henry John Martin on the near west side of Green Bay, Wis. And, while we have grown from the "small carpet store" down the street to the largest interior and specialty contractor in the United States, we still complete projects of all shapes and sizes every day.
Today, under the direction of CEO Edward Martin we have 600-plus employees and operate six divisions: Flooring, Glass, Walls & Ceilings, Doors & Division 10, Retail Fixture, Millwork & FF&E, and Floorcare. We are licensed in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Having our workforce spread throughout the country has allowed us to serve national retail giants with the quality work they expect. We also have the necessary soft skills needed, as many of our employees are Dale Carnegie-trained.
H.J. Martin and Son is honored to have been chosen five times by professional sports franchises to work on expansion projects at their iconic stadiums. We are privileged to have played a role in players' locker rooms and expansive glass walls in atriums that welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
Our first job was a residential, ceramic-tile bathroom, and those types of projects remain an integral part of H.J. Martin and Son's identity. Our size and longevity gives us buying power and industry relationships that are second to none, allowing us to pass the best possible pricing along to our customers, along with exclusive products not found anywhere else. Many of our installers have worked for us for decades, so after your purchase you'll get one of the best, most knowledgeable installers in the area coming into your home or business to do the work. And, since we self-perform our work, we always stand behind it. We never run from problems – we're up front, honest and address any issues that a customer may have.
A family-owned company now in its fourth generation, H.J. Martin and Son is an active member of its home community, in Green Bay and throughout Northeast Wisconsin. We've made substantial contributions to major community assets such as the P.H. Martin Webster Sports Complex and the Packers Heritage Trail that enhance quality of life and help bring in out-of-town visitors. We also give monetarily and through our work to numerous non-profit organizations, including the New Community Shelter, the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay and Brown County United Way. We feel a strong responsibility to this area.
Our work and our people have been honored on many occasions by awards, through both industry and the community, and we hold work and product certifications across all of our divisions. It is important to us to maintain a strong culture of safety company-wide. Our people have OSHA certifications at the highest levels, and we have been honored for our workplace safety on a number of high-visibility projects, including Lambeau Field.
We live by the words of our CEO, Edward Martin, who says, "We're only as good as our last job." We would like for our next job to be yours.
